The History of the Baldwin Motion Camaro

In the late 1960s, Baldwin Chevrolet of Baldwin, New York, began offering a line of performance-enhanced Camaros. These cars were known as Baldwin Motion Camaros and were equipped with a variety of high-performance parts, including larger engines, stronger transmissions, and upgraded suspension systems.

The Baldwin Motion Camaro LS7 was the ultimate expression of this performance line. It was powered by a 454/525 HP LS7 V-8 engine, which was the largest and most powerful engine that Baldwin Motion ever offered. The car also featured a number of other high-performance upgrades, including a four-speed Muncie Rock Crusher transmission, a Posi-traction rear end, and four-wheel disc brakes.

The Only Example of its Kind

Only one 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Baldwin Motion LS7 was ever built. This car was ordered new by Ray Dotterer of Lamar, Pennsylvania, and was delivered to him in June of 1970. The car was originally painted Daytona Yellow, but it has since been repainted black.
