327-Powered 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad 4-Speed

This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is powered by a replacement 327ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in blue and ivory over a color-coordinated interior. The car is equipped with power steering, power front disc brakes, 15″ American Racing wheels, an aftermarket digital stereo, a Hurst shifter, an Edelbrock intake manifold and four-barrel carburetor, an MSD ignition coil, a Mallory distributor, and an aluminum radiator. The car was acquired by the owner in 2017, and subsequent work consisted of installing a tilting steering column and a Grant steering wheel as well as polishing the chrome trim and bumpers. This Nomad is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a car cover and clean Texas title.

The car is finished in blue with an ivory roof and is said to have been repainted under prior ownership. Details include a wrap-around windshield, sliding rear windows, a two-piece tailgate, “Bel Air” badging, and twin tailfins. The chrome trim and bumpers are said to have been polished in preparation for the sale. There is a paint chip on the left rocker panel below the door.

Chrome 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires measuring 235/70 up front and 255/70 out back. The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in ivory vinyl with blue patterned inserts. Equipment includes a Hurst shifter, aluminum bowtie-patterned dashboard trim, a split-folding front bench seat, an analog clock, a cabin heater, and an aftermarket digital stereo.

The leather-wrapped Grant steering wheel is mounted to a chrome tilting column and frames a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The steering column and steering wheel are said to have been installed under current ownership. A trio of Sunpro gauges is located below the center of the dashboard. The five-digit mechanical odometer is said to have rolled over and shows 32 miles, approximately 1k miles have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The factory 265ci V8 was replaced with a 327ci V8 under prior ownership. Features include an MSD ignition coil, a Mallory distributor, an Edelbrock intake manifold and four-barrel carburetor, tubular exhaust headers, a chrome air cleaner assembly, and finned valve covers. An aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan has been installed. A fluid service was performed in preparation for the sale.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An aftermarket dual exhaust system has been fitted.
